Large fire risk in the environment throughout the country

During the current advisory period, strict measures are in place concerning the safety of the natural environment. Authorities have issued guidelines making it strictly forbidden to set any fire, or to throw burning objects or substances that could ignite the surrounding natural environment. These regulations prohibit activities such as burning debris, lighting bonfires, or using fireworks.

Furthermore, any use of objects, devices, or activities that carry a risk of causing a fire outside of established built-up areas is strictly forbidden. In the event that a fire occurs within the natural setting, or if any individual observes signs of a blaze, the public is urged to first attempt to extinguish the fire if it is safe to do so. Following initial efforts, contacting the emergency services immediately by calling 112 is mandatory.

The Environmental Agency has issued forecasts predicting that temperatures are expected to reach or exceed 30 degrees Celsius in the coming days. While the possibility of rain or thunderstorms cannot be entirely ruled out, the high temperatures necessitate heightened caution regarding potential ignition sources. Residents should remain vigilant to prevent any uncontrolled fire incidents.

This advisory follows reports of a limited fire near the Slovenian Bitija, which covered an area of 3.5 hectares. Adherence to these restrictions is crucial for protecting both public safety and the local ecosystem.
