Medvod Hosts Vibrant Brass Band Festival
Medvod, Slovenia – The streets of Medvod were filled with the sounds of more than twenty local brass bands last weekend, marking the inaugural event and the launch of a new music festival. The festival culminated with a performance on the main stage featuring singer Nina Pušlar and the Medvode Brass Band. Attendees were also treated to a performance by the Magnifico band, contributing to the diverse musical atmosphere.
Organizers established a new venue for the event, signaling a significant addition to the regional music scene. Nina Pušlar expressed her enthusiasm for the festival, stating, “I like their idea. I love brass bands, or as we say: ‘pleh muzika.’ Many of them also play my songs, which I appreciate.” She described the combined musical energy as “very loud,” particularly noting the impact of the bands’ rhythmic precision during key choruses.
Pušlar highlighted the inclusion of amateur musicians, stating, “Often, there are also amateur musicians here – amateurs, which makes the thing even better, which means me.” The event successfully introduced a unique blend of musical styles and community engagement to the Medvod area.
