Miha Brejc, who departed the SDS in 2012, has initiated a public campaign calling for the resignation of Zoran Stevanović, the president of the National Assembly. Brejc announced the collection of 10,000 signatures via an online petition targeting Stevanović’s leadership. Furthermore, he is gathering additional signatures to establish a dedicated DZ investigation commission concerning the “Black Cube affair.”
In his opening remarks regarding the petition, Brejc stated his concern that Stevanović’s conduct allegedly undermines constitutional respect and harms the nation.
He explained that the motivation for launching the petition stemmed from sustained public and journalistic discourse on the matter, which, he suggested, had not resulted in tangible institutional change. Consequently, he posited that the petition represented one of the few available avenues for citizens to voice their collective opinion.
