Traffic Accident in Šempas Results in Serious Injury
Nova Gorica Police reported a serious traffic accident yesterday evening in the Šempas area. Two drivers, both residents of Nova Gorica, were involved in the incident while traveling towards the Vitovlje settlement. According to initial reports, the collision occurred near the Šempas post office.
The driver of a passenger car made a left turn and subsequently struck the rear right portion of the car due to a lack of appropriate safety distance. The motorcyclist, a minor, sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash. Emergency services, including police officers from the Nova Gorica Police Department, firefighters from the JZ GRD Nova Gorica, and paramedics from the NMP ZD Nova Gorica, responded to the scene.
The injured driver was transported to the General Hospital Dr. Franc Derganc Nova Gorica for further medical treatment. The motorcycle involved was impounded by police under Article 23 of the Road Traffic Regulations Act (ZPrCP).
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the accident are ongoing. The police are examining the actions of the driver and the contributing factors to the collision.
