Novo mesto Police Identify Group Involved in Assault Video

Novo mesto police have identified a group of teenagers involved in a violent altercation captured on video, an event that occurred last year. The video, depicting a sustained fight, was recovered following a police investigation. Authorities confirmed the group’s history of disruptive behavior within the community.

“The event took place, and we could not prevent it,” stated Bor Jeglič, director of the PU Novo mesto. “Special attention was paid to determine if there was a broader context to the incident, whether this violence would escalate, or whether it would recur. We have succeeded here in establishing a clear picture.”

The incident in question involved an attack on the caretaker of Drska Primary School, who requested the group reduce the volume of their music and restore order.

Police are currently investigating to determine if the same group was responsible for this and other recent incidents. The investigation included the review of surveillance footage and consultation with individuals familiar with the area. A former Romani priest viewed the video and stated it appeared to be the same group of teenagers.

Police are continuing to assess the situation and explore all potential leads, focusing on whether further action is required. It remains unclear whether the same individuals were involved in multiple incidents, and not all aspects of the situation have been fully resolved.
