Damjana Fajfar has been stationed outside the Kompas Hotel in Kranjska Gora since the morning, meticulously organizing specialized transport to a location just a few kilometers away near Ponce. Her primary task is verifying that all passengers possess the necessary accreditation and that no vehicle departs without a passenger. Damjana has been managing this transport for the past four years.
Prior to that, she was a frequent visitor to Planica. “I truly miss it,” she confesses. “Planica represented a holiday filled with significant events; here, the atmosphere is notably different, lacking the vibrancy of music.”
Despite this shift, Damjana maintains a positive outlook.
“However, this is the arrangement I’ve made, and I embrace it,” she quickly adds. “I’ve had the opportunity to meet numerous new individuals, which greatly enhances my daily experience.”
Previously, Damjana personally prepared bread and salt, and she has dedicated 25 years to overseeing the Planica ski slopes firsthand. “It was always a joy to visit Planica, and to be present there,” she reflects.
This dedicated work ensures the smooth operation of the transport and reflects damjana’s long-standing connection to the area.
