As the Directorate of the Republic of Slovenia for Protection and Rescue wrote, a smell of gas was detected in Pohorska ulica in Celje in a multi-apartment building a little after 14:30. Firefighters of the Celje Fire Department confirmed the presence of gas and evacuated 95 people. One person was also taken to the General Hospital Celje.
The firefighters then, together with the Police, located the apartment from which gas was escaping, found a gas cylinder there and secured it, disconnected the electricity in the apartment and ventilated the entire building. After the ventilation was completed, the firefighters again carried out measurements of dangerous gases and no more abnormalities were detected. However, the residents were ordered to perform additional ventilation.
