Zelensky is concerned: a long-lasting conflict with Iran would weaken Kiev’s help

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the country urgently requires additional Patriot air defense systems to combat Russia’s ongoing daily attacks, according to a report by the Associated Press. Zelensky made the statement while visiting Istanbul, where he was scheduled to meet with Turkish President Recep Erdogan. Since the beginning of the war more than four years ago, relentless shelling by Russian forces in frontline areas has resulted in the deaths of thousands of civilians.

Simultaneously, Russia continues to target Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, disrupting industrial production and limiting heating and water supplies during the winter months. “We must realize that today we are not a priority,” Zelensky said.
