Germans are increasingly altering their travel plans amid ongoing global political uncertainty, according to a recent survey. The German Institute for Travel Research (DTV) found that 16 percent of respondents have adjusted their Easter travel arrangements or plans for the coming months, with some abandoning travel altogether. The survey, reported by Bavarian BR24, revealed a significant shift in travel behavior.
A substantial 46 percent of those who modified their plans opted not to travel at all, while 32 percent cancelled trips that they had already booked. The German Travel Association has described these findings as surprising. Chairman Reinhard Meyer noted that the 16 percent change rate was an unexpected deviation from previous trends.
He attributed the shift to the current global political climate and its impact on consumer confidence regarding travel. The survey highlights a growing concern among German travelers regarding the potential disruptions and uncertainties associated with international travel in the present environment.
