Government Announces Reduction in Ministries, Abolishes ‘Ministry of Solidarity Future’
A newly enacted government law outlines a restructuring of ministries, reducing the total number from 19 to 14. The proposal, spearheaded by the SDS, eliminates the ‘Ministry of Solidarity Future,’ a position held by Simon Maljevac of the Left party during the current term. Despite the announced abolition, the Ministry of Solidarity Future will continue to operate until the formation of the new government.
According to confirmed reports, the Minister will primarily undertake routine administrative tasks. The government confirmed the final ministry count at 14. The Ministry of Solidarity Future clarified that the Housing Accessibility Sector, currently overseen by the Directorate for Housing, will remain operational.
Moving forward, the government law designates the housing policy area to be managed by the newly established Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning. This shift reflects a broader reorganization of government departments within the coalition.
