In 2010, the famous conductor and composer Patrik Greblo and his family bought a flat in Dunajske kristale. “I signed a contract with the seller and closed the deal with him. The seller was still building other parts of the neighborhood at the time, so the whole thing looked very good, very healthy, even financially,” Greblo says today.
Mabra engineering, the investor, borrowed the loan for the building from the then NKBM, and went bankrupt in 2014, and then went into liquidation. At the end of April 2024, Greblo received a letter saying: “There is still a debt of five million plus interest, that’s a total of seven million. Please offer your apartment.” The owner only looked at the letter.
Greblo says he paid the entire purchase price of 550 thousand crowns, and the promises to erase the mortgage.
