As reported by the Maribor Police Department, the Criminal Investigation Department concluded the investigation into the suspicion of criminal fraud in June. In the pre-trial proceedings, they found that the company’s director, who was suspected of fraud in 2021 in obtaining financial resources or concluding a leasing contract for a work machine, had deceived the economically disadvantaged company from Ljubljana. He was supposed to show that the obligations under the concluded contract would be fulfilled.
The suspect was supposed to submit false data and documentation about the ownership of the work machine to the leasing provider before the contract was concluded. Based on this documentation, leasing was approved for financing the purchase of the machine. Shortly after the contract was concluded, the suspect stopped paying the obligations, according to police reports.
The economically disadvantaged company was allegedly deceived.
