Resni.ca Party Remains Noncommittal on Potential Government Formation
Zoran Stevanović, president of the Resni.ca party, stated that his party cannot predict the progress of Slovenia’s government formation process. Speaking on the 24UR ZVEČER show, Stevanović confirmed that Resni.ca not intends to be part of the current proposed government. He asserted that the party’s focus remains on assessing the likelihood of a stable coalition.
“We are not part of this government and we will not be part of this government,” Stevanović declared. “We feel that the party currently struggling to form a government is significantly less likely to succeed than other potential partners.”
The Resni.ca party has indicated it has not been formally approached regarding a potential endorsement of Janez Janša as a candidate. Stevanović explained that their support would be contingent upon the candidate’s ability to align with the party’s programmatic principles and address their specific demands.
“They probably know that we will support the one who is closer to forming a government that can reconcile its programmatic principles with ours. And I think they know that they could get our signatures to vote for the candidate if they meet all of what we are asking.”
He further suggested that the Social Democratic Union (SDS) may have anticipated their potential support.
