Who will be able to form a government and with whom?

The question of who will form the 16th government of the Republic of Slovenia hinges on securing 46 mandates. The Freedom Movement, led by Robert Golob, is expected to hold the largest share in parliament, commanding 29 seats. To establish a government, they require at least 17 votes, and currently appear to need the support of three coalition partners.

It is almost certain that Social Democrats (SD) with Matjaž Han, can contribute six votes, and Levica with Luka Mesca will provide five. However, this combination still falls short of the necessary 46 votes. The crucial question is whether Anže Logar will join the effort.

Resni.co, led by Zorana Stevanović, would only hold 45 votes, leaving a gap. Minority deputies typically maintain independence, and this mandate composition reflects that reality. Janez Janša’s coalition would need 18 additional votes to reach the required total.

This highlights the challenge of securing the necessary votes to form a government.
