After the swearing-in of the new government, Janša announced that the opposition would be invited to join the coalition this week. He explained only that the details of such a partnership would be clarified at the DZ debate on Thursday, when the government team was confirmed, that the opposition would be offered to cooperate, among other things, already in the preparation of working drafts of systemic laws, not only when the proposals are on the parliamentary benches. The SDS leader affirmed that there would be no obligations for the opposition in this, but it is about the goodwill of the coalition and the possibility that despite the different status of parliamentary parties, all will cooperate in urgent key solutions.
“If we agree, we agree, if we don’t, the opposition has no responsibility,” Janša emphasized. This offer brings the possibility that in the future, key solutions will not be discussed at the level “when someone is already enjoying the benefits of the status quo,” the leader of the SDS said.
