While swimming on the island, a storm caught them, and they were saved at the last minute

The Center for Information 112 received a notification yesterday at approximately 18:15. Following this alert, local police were immediately informed and subsequently sailed from the Pula port with a course set for Cape Kamenjak. Upon arrival, Croatian police discovered two individuals on the Fenoliga island.

The rescued parties were identified as Hungarian citizens: a 44-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman. Reports indicate that the pair began swimming from the shore toward the island around 5:00 PM. After spending some time on the island, the swimmers observed that a storm system was approaching, prompting them to head back toward the coast.

During this return journey, they were caught by strong sea currents that carried them out toward the open sea. Despite their visible exhaustion, the individuals were reported to be uninjured and did not require immediate medical assistance. Following the incident, authorities issued a safety warning to both residents and tourists, advising that swimming activities should not extend beyond a distance of 100 meters from the shore.

The swift response of the police ensured the safety of the two citizens after their difficult swim.
