West is yellow, East is orange: Freedom convinced most in Nova Gorica, SDS in Škofja Loka

The recent Sunday general elections saw a significant portion of eligible voters participate, according to initial, unconfirmed figures released by the State Electoral Commission (DVK). A total of 1,175,173 voters cast their ballots, representing 69.32 percent of the entire electorate. Regional variations in voter turnout were evident.

The Kranj electoral unit demonstrated the highest participation, while Ptuj recorded the lowest. Within individual districts, Škofja Loka 2 led the way with 80.57 percent of registered voters taking part. Other districts with notable turnout included Kranj 3 at 78.84 percent, Ljubljana Šiška 4 at 78.10 percent, and Ivančna Gorica with 77.43 percent.

Furthermore, over 75 percent of voters participated in Ljubljana Vič-Rudnik 1, Mozirje, Domžale 1, Žalec 2, Škofja Loka 1, and Vrhnika. Conversely, the Ptuj electoral unit experienced the lowest levels of electoral engagement. These figures highlight the diverse engagement of voters across Slovenia’s various districts.
