We are now at one of the busiest ends of the week

High Traffic Expected Across Slovenia as Summer Travel Begins

The Agency for Traffic Safety (AVP) has announced significant traffic congestion is expected across Slovenia during the initial phase of the summer travel season. High traffic volumes are anticipated, particularly in routes heading towards Croatia, Austria, and Italy. Specifically, the AVP anticipates increased traffic density on Sunday, focusing on routes through the Gorenjska, Štajerska, and Primorska regions, as well as the Ljubljana ring road.

Congestion is also predicted around key areas including the prison vicinity, and at crossings such as Karavanke, Šentilj, and Gruškovje. The agency is urging all road users to exercise patience and responsibility, emphasizing strict adherence to traffic regulations. Drivers are advised to proactively assess their vehicle’s condition, road conditions, and estimated travel times prior to commencing journeys.

Continuous monitoring of road conditions is also recommended. Particular caution is advised when approaching the prison, with drivers instructed to reduce speed, maintain appropriate distances, and strictly observe all traffic rules. The AVP’s message centers on safe driving practices and tolerance during this period of heightened traffic.
