Slovenia’s electric vehicle market is experiencing significant growth, with over 100 different models currently available for purchase within the country. Demand for electric cars is rising, according to Davorin Stanonik, Sales Manager at Malgaj. In the first three months of 2024, nearly 2,300 electric vehicles were newly registered in Slovenia, marking a substantial increase of 78% compared to the same period in 2023.
The market share for electric vehicles has also risen, moving from 11% to 14% during this time. While Slovenia’s electric vehicle market share is currently lower than in Europe – reaching 17.4% last year and 18.8% in the first two months of this year – the rate of growth is outpacing European trends. “The demand is increasing,” Stanonik noted.
Currently, Slovenia’s electric vehicle market share lags behind Europe’s, but the observed growth trajectory suggests a continued upward trend in adoption within the country.
