Prior to the team event, Prevc issued a caution to his rivals, stating he possessed further reserves. Lanišek achieved a trial series distance of 227.5 meters, Zajc recorded 211.5 meters, and Oblak managed 195 meters. Prevc, however, experienced considerable difficulty, struggling to complete his jump and landing at 80 meters.
The entire crowd in Planica held its breath during this moment, but Prevc ultimately landed safely, allowing for a collective sigh of relief. Japanese competitor Ren Nikaido dominated the trial series with a remarkable jump of 237.5 meters. Japan topped the trial series standings, followed by Austria and then Germany.
