The investigation of the explosions and damages to the 20 billion dollar (17.23 billion euros) gas pipelines of Nord Stream 1 and 2 in the Baltic Sea in September 2022 reveals details that were previously reminiscent of a tense action movie than of real events. After the damage to the gas pipelines that were important to the European Union, the suspicion was initially directed at the CIA, the American intelligence agency, or the FSB, the Russian security service. But according to The Times, the sabotage of the century, as many security experts and global media called it, was the work of a small group of Ukrainian civilians and elite divers.
