‘This is a disaster. This should not have happened’: the German system failed

An alleged incident occurred on April 1st involving an attack on an industrial park, which reportedly houses several German companies. Due to security considerations, the precise location of the event was withheld. According to information cited by Stern magazine, referencing an internal report from Ukrainian military circles, the area was protected by a robust defense perimeter.

This defense included two Skynex systems, each equipped with eight 35-mm guns, complemented by two X-TAR 3D radars and two command stations. The deployment was designed to ensure that any approaching target could be engaged by at least two gun emplacements simultaneously. The report detailed the sequence of the engagement, noting that the radar detected the approaching drone approximately 20 kilometers away.

As the unmanned aerial vehicle closed the distance to about two kilometers, the Skynex system fired a single round. However, the projectile reportedly failed to strike the target. Following this near-miss, the drone subsequently crashed into the electrical infrastructure within the industrial park.

The defensive measures, though extensive, were unable to prevent the impact. The details suggest a multi-layered defense system was active, designed to counter threats from multiple angles. The incident underscores the high level of security measures implemented to safeguard industrial assets, particularly those involving German commercial interests.
