Man Shot in Biala Podlaska, Police Investigating Potential Planned Attack
Biala Podlaska, Poland – A man, identified as Semyon skrepetski, was fatally shot multiple times in the town center on Tuesday. The incident occurred in a street in the Polish town, approximately 35 kilometers from the border with Belarus. According to Lublin region police, skrepetski, a caricaturist whose work appeared on profimedia, was found with gunshot wounds to the head, chest, and back.
The shooting took place in a parking lot roughly 600 meters from the Belarusian consulate. Police have apprehended a man in the vicinity of the consulate. Initial reports suggest the attack may have been premeditated.
“Investigators are currently working to determine the motive behind the shooting,” stated a police spokesperson to the Polish press agency PAP. The BBC reports that skrepetski sustained five gunshot wounds. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are focused on identifying the perpetrator and establishing the circumstances surrounding the attack.
