In Ljubljana, specifically at Moste-Polje 3, a total of 20,004 voters were registered. During the recent election, 13,174 individuals cast their ballots, but unfortunately, 134 votes were deemed invalid. Ernest Mencigar, the coordinator of the Ljubljana district electoral commission, clarified that these irregularities often involved deliberate actions by the voters.
He explained that individuals express their dissatisfaction by crossing out selections, writing incorrectly, and adding numerous extraneous markings to the ballot. “We encountered a ballot stating we were the mafia, another with a singular, unusual finger, and one that prominently labeled the Democrats as ‘drugs,’ the Freedom Movement as ‘corruption,’ and Resni.ca as ‘Serbs,’ while SDS was described as ‘dictatorship.’”
Mencigar further stated that a criminal complaint was filed concerning a woman who cast her vote yesterday. The commission actively monitors the ballots to ensure the integrity of the voting process within ljubljana.
These actions highlight the need for careful observation and the prevention of fraudulent activity during elections.
