Traffic Expected to Increase Across Central Europe This Week
The Police Directorate (PIC) anticipates heightened traffic volumes across central European roads throughout the upcoming week, particularly Wednesday and Thursday. Increased traffic is expected, especially towards popular tourist destinations and border crossings with Croatia. PIC officials stated that favorable weather conditions – a sunny forecast – will contribute to elevated traffic levels as individuals travel to and from tourist attractions.
The “summer road trio,” encompassing the start and end of the European summer holidays, is also anticipated to drive increased movement. Freight vehicle traffic is also expected to rise on Friday. Transit tourist traffic will be notably strong, coinciding with the beginning or end of summer holidays in several European nations.
Specifically, the PIC expects a surge in travelers beginning their holidays in destinations like Switzerland and Poland, with Polish citizens anticipated to arrive by the end of the week. On Wednesday, July 1st, traffic will be concentrated around the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and travelers from Belgium. This period represents both the first and last day of July.
PIC continues to monitor road conditions and advise motorists to plan their journeys accordingly.
