According to reports from the emergency management service of the Slovenian fire department, recent severe weather has caused damage across several settlements. The primary impact was reported due to high winds, which affected residential structures and agricultural areas. Specifically, the wind damaged the roofs of two houses in the settlement of Poljane, in addition to causing damage to individual buildings in Hotovlja and Predmost.
Agricultural losses were also noted, with a plantation destroyed in the village of Poljane, situated above Škofja Loka. Firefighters from the municipality of Gorenja vas-Poljane led the majority of the response efforts. These teams addressed multiple incidents, including damage to a plantation belonging to Maline and the removal of a tree that had been uprooted from the road in the settlement of Retnje, within the Tržič municipality.
Furthermore, emergency personnel responded to a forest fire that occurred along the Trebija-Stara Oselica road. This blaze, which was likely caused by a lightning strike, consumed leaves and undergrowth. Firefighters successfully extinguished the fire and subsequently cleared the affected area.
The overall response highlighted the significant mobilization required to manage damage caused by the adverse weather conditions.
