Paraglider Rescued Following Emergency Landing in Tolmin
At approximately 13:43 local time, a paraglider experienced an emergency landing at Mrzli vrh, a site within the municipality of Tolmin. The Rescue Service reported that the paraglider, a woman, was unharmed following the incident. According to the Tolmin Rescue Service, the paraglider was caught in a sudden gust of wind and subsequently deployed its primary parachute.
Recognizing the situation, the pilot activated two reserve parachutes. Rescue personnel utilized rope techniques to safely retrieve the individual from their location – a tree – and transport her to the valley floor. The incident prompted a swift response, with the Tolmin Rescue Service arriving first.
To assist, the Air Police Unit dispatched a helicopter crew, and the Rescue Service from Brnik was subsequently mobilized. Once the injured woman was stabilized, she was carefully loaded into the Air Police helicopter for transport to a medical facility in Kobarid. The rescue operation involved a coordinated effort between multiple teams and highlighted the importance of preparedness in responding to aerial emergencies.
Her safety was the primary concern throughout the entire process.
