Government Sets Maximum Fuel Prices Effective Monday

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy announced today that maximum retail prices for petrol, diesel, and heating oil will be implemented starting tomorrow, June 23, 2026, and continuing until Monday, June 29, 2026. These regulations establish specific price limits for consumers. The approved prices are 1.530 euros per liter for petrol, 1.607 euros per liter for diesel, and 1.200 euros per liter for heating oil.

These figures represent the highest allowable prices at the point of sale. For 95-octane petrol, the excise duty of 0.41759 euros per liter, typically charged at stations outside motorways and expressways, will be capped at 1.530 euros per liter. This equates to 76.50 euros for a 50-liter purchase.

According to the Ministry, without these regulations, the anticipated price for 1 liter of 95-octane petrol would have been approximately 1.633 euros. The Ministry emphasized that price regulation for these petroleum derivatives will continue to be in effect moving forward. All prices are quoted in euros per liter.
