The truth does not go into partnership with the government: ‘We see no point’

During a recent press conference, Zoran Stevanović addressed the coalition’s proposal, initially stating that they were satisfied with the offer presented by the opposition. However, after conducting a thorough review of every point within the agreement, Stevanović later clarified that they do not see any substantial reason for signing, characterizing the matter as purely formal. Consequently, he confirmed that the party would remain consistent in its stance and would not enter into an agreement with the coalition.

Adding further context, State Secretary Vink Gorenak noted that the final decisions had not yet been communicated to him. Gorenak asserted that the party does not need to justify its strategic decisions to any external group. He acknowledged that internal opinions within the party regarding the approach to potential partnerships were divided.

Stevanović also provided an update on other political developments, mentioning that the party had already submitted its responses to partnership offers made by Levica, Vesna, Svoboda, and SD. The statements collectively indicate a measured and independent approach from the party leadership, emphasizing internal deliberation over immediate political alignment. Stevanović said that the review process led to a conclusion that the proposed coalition deal lacked substantive merit for their commitment.
