Police responded to a traffic accident report at approximately 8:23 a.m. on the former border crossing area in Rožnik, near Nova Gorica, Slovenia. The incident involved a foreign goods vehicle with significant material damage that became immobilized on a railway overpass.

Responding officers discovered that a 52-year-old driver, a Croatian citizen, was traveling from Italy to Slovenia via the Rožnik crossing. The driver admitted to disregarding traffic signals restricting vehicles exceeding 3.45 meters in height. This resulted in a collision with the railway overpass.

Following the incident, the driver was administered a sobriety test, which determined he was not impaired by alcohol. The primary damage sustained was to the goods vehicle itself, alongside damage to the railway overpass structure. Police are currently assessing the extent of the damage to the overpass and investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
