Last year’s fires burned down a car once owned by Prime Minister Keir Starmer, the entrance to the flat where he used to live, and the entrance to the house his sister is using today. Roman Lavrinovic, 22, and Stanislav Carpiuc, 27, were convicted at the London court for arson, while the third defendant was acquitted. The trial against the three men was unusual, mainly because the author of the play was never revealed.
The case focused exclusively on the financial motive. The identity, connections and motives of the anonymous perpetrator who offered Lavrinovic money for the attacks, as reported by BBC, were deliberately excluded. The investigation was focused on the mysterious organiser who presented himself as EL.
It is believed that he found Lavrinovic through a group on Telegram.
