The oligarchs: the restriction of broadcasting would cause a lot of damage

The Association of Slovenian entrepreneurs announced that imposing a moratorium on the “inoperative” hospitality law, a component of the broader emergency measures law for development, represented a necessary systemic measure. This statement followed the Constitutional Court’s ruling that permitted a referendum concerning the emergency legislation. The association contended that the existing hospitality law fails to align with European regulations, which it was originally designed to meet.

Furthermore, the organization questioned the basis for the consent demands, suggesting that lawmakers have not provided adequate professional substantiation for these requirements. They argued that the current framework compels adherence to administrative procedures that are potentially unlawful. Specific procedural issues were highlighted, including the continued insistence by Ajpes on registering accommodation establishments under the provisions of the repealed legislation.

Additionally, the Ministry of Economy’s application for the categorization of these establishments reportedly continues to operate based on an underdeveloped system. In summary, the entrepreneurs’ body views the moratorium as crucial due to perceived discrepancies between the current national legal framework and international standards. The concerns center on the operational integrity of the hospitality sector, pointing to systemic inconsistencies within the existing law and administrative processes that require immediate review.
