Traffic Regulation Implementation Delayed, Leading to Increased Congestion
A new traffic regulation affecting state roads is experiencing a delay in its implementation, resulting in heightened traffic congestion in the area. The regulation, initially slated for April 20th, will now take effect with approximately a one-week postponement, according to the traffic information center for state roads. The change impacts the direction road to Ljubljana, which will be completely closed to through traffic.
However, an exception will be made between the Šentjakob and Zadobrova junctions. To mitigate disruption, a temporary additional lane will be constructed in the direction of Zadobrova, intended to improve traffic flow. Simultaneously, traffic will continue to flow normally on the direction road to Maribor, where the implementation of the new regulation is ongoing.
Authorities acknowledge the increased traffic delays and are working to finalize the regulation’s rollout. Updates will be provided as the situation develops. The delay underscores the complexities of infrastructure changes and their potential impact on regional traffic patterns.
