Freedom Party MPs Considering Legal Action Against Zoran Stevanović
The Freedom Party (Slovenska Lista) is reportedly considering initiating legal proceedings against Zoran Stevanović following accusations made by the politician. While the list of specific MPs who intend to file the lawsuit remains undisclosed, all members of the Freedom party could potentially pursue this course of action, according to sources. Robert Golob, the party’s leader, announced yesterday his intention to initiate proceedings against Stevanović and stated the party’s support for any MPs who choose to do so.
During today’s session of the National Assembly (DZ), Deputy Speaker and Freedom party MP Nataša Avšič Bogovič directly addressed Stevanović, requesting a public clarification of recent statements and related publications where Stevanović accused Freedom party MPs of “travelling behavior.”
Stevanović rejected the request for clarification, but Avšič Bogovič expanded the demand, requesting an apology from Stevanović and also Janja Sluga. Sluga emphasized the seriousness of Stevanović’s initial statement. The potential legal action involves a group of MPs from the Freedom party.
The move comes amidst ongoing discussions regarding the confirmation of the new government’s ministerial team and highlights tensions between the Freedom party and other political figures. Further developments regarding the lawsuit are anticipated.
