The former supreme leader of Hamedan will be buried on July 9

Ali Hamenej will be buried in his birthplace of Mashhad in northeastern Iran, which is one of the holy sites of Islam. The burial was originally planned for March, but was postponed due to the war. Previously, from July 4, three-day funeral rites will take place in Tehran, and on July 7, a ceremony will take place in the holy city of Kom.

The beginning of the state mourning and funeral rites on July 4 will coincide with the US Independence Day, which will also mark the 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States.
