Mountaineer Igor Šehić began his trek on the Aljaževa stolp early Tuesday morning. Following a physically demanding ascent, Šehić stated that the cooling effect of the snow provided welcome relief. He noted that the extended hours of walking and the associated discomfort were offset by the prospect of climbing the Triglav.
Šehić explained that the entire endeavor was motivated by a desire to experience the most challenging physical feats in support of others whose daily lives present their own unique struggles. His goal was to draw public attention to the needs of children and young people living with cerebral palsy, highlighting the daily challenges they encounter. His efforts are directly linked to his volunteer work with the Zagreb club CeDePe, where he assists individuals with cerebral palsy.
The funds generated from this arduous climb are designated to support these young people. The initiative aims to educate the wider community about the specific difficulties faced by this population. By undertaking such a physically demanding journey, Šehić intends to show the public who these individuals are and the resilience they demonstrate daily.
The climb up the Triglav serves not only as a personal athletic achievement but also as a powerful platform to raise awareness and secure necessary resources for those who require support.
