Traffic Accident Reported at Koprska Marketplace Roundabout

Koper, Slovenia – Police responded to a traffic incident on Saturday afternoon at the Koprska marketplace roundabout, according to a statement from the Police Department (PU) Koper. Initial investigations revealed a collision involving a bus and a personal vehicle. The incident occurred as a 49-year-old bus driver was traveling on the Piran road in Koper, heading towards Žusterna.

The bus driver had positioned himself in the right traffic lane leading to the outer lane of the roundabout prior to entering the circular roadway. A driver operating a personal car was traveling on the inner lane of the roundabout, adhering to standard traffic flow. However, the bus driver subsequently made a maneuver, anticipating the car would remain in the inner lane.

The car driver unexpectedly shifted into the outer lane, crossing the path of the bus. Authorities are currently reviewing the circumstances surrounding the accident at the roundabout. The incident involved a bus and a personal vehicle, and investigations are ongoing to determine the precise cause of the collision.

No serious injuries were reported.
