Norwegian author Ari Behn, the former spouse of Princess Märtha Louise, died five years ago at the age of 47. Behn was married to the princess for 15 years and was buried in the cathedral in Oslo following a Christmas alone. According to the Norwegian news platform “Nyheter,” the funeral’s costs were covered by the tabloid newspaper “Se og Hør,” rather than the royal family.
The newspaper reportedly agreed to pay 10,000 euros for the funeral arrangements. Former Behn advisor, Geir Haakonsen, was involved in the payment process. Additionally, Behn’s mother, Marianne Behn, was slated to receive a significant sum for exclusive rights to photographs taken at the funeral.
“Se og Hør” stated that it was important for them to ensure Ari Behn had a dignified farewell, and they were pleased with the outcome.
