Resni.ca Party Leader Demands Interior Minister’s Resignation Amid Worker Allegations
Following calls for the resignation of Resni.ca party leader Mijic, who is accused of owing debts to workers and the state, party president Zoran Stevanović has escalated the situation with a demand for the resignation of Minister of the Interior Luka Mesec. Stevanović’s statement, released on Facebook, alleges a lack of action by the Ministry regarding ongoing issues. He claims that the involvement of SSI Schaefer and the subsequent shift towards political influence, alongside investigations by the prosecutor’s office and the Furs company, have resulted in significant financial harm to numerous workers.
Stevanović asserts that a large number of workers were individually defrauded, with losses ranging from 15 to 50 thousand euros annually. Following Stevanović’s public comments, all contracts and related documents were reportedly seized. Allegations have emerged concerning the provision of counterfeit documents by lawyer Špela Mesesnel, with evidence suggesting that Minister Mesec was aware of this activity on multiple occasions.
Furthermore, a secretary within the Ministry of the Interior is implicated in the theft of these documents. The situation centers around concerns regarding the financial well-being of the workers and raises questions about accountability within the Ministry of the Interior. Investigations are ongoing into the allegations surrounding the individuals involved, who are at the center of the calls for resignation.
