The parents quit their jobs and allowed their son to start hunting for his dreams

David Pejičić, at 18 years old, has quickly established himself as a prominent figure in Slovenian football. He represents the latest generation of accomplished Slovenian footballers originating from Šempeter pri Gorica. The area has a rich footballing history, with notable alumni including Valter Birsa, Tim Matavž, and Miha Zajc.

Pejičić’s connection to Šempeter pri Gorica is deep, having dedicated much of his youth to the sport. He began his footballing journey with Bilja before playing for Gorica. At the age of 14, he moved to Italy, joining the ranks of Udinese.

“My path may not be extensive, but it has been engaging,” Pejičić stated. “I am thankful for every opportunity I’ve been given, regardless of where I played. It was particularly rewarding to play for a club like Udinese, and I valued the time I spent with the club’s members.”

Pejičić’s rise to prominence within the country hasn’t been solely for personal gain.

He emphasizes that he continues to play to support his teammates and contribute to the team’s success.
