The court rejected Blake Lively’s lawsuit against Justin Baldoni

Blake Lively’s lawsuit against Justin Baldoni, alleging sexual harassment during the filming of “End of Us,” has been dismissed by a federal judge. Judge Lewis Liman ruled on Thursday that the claims stemmed from actions directed at Lively’s character within the movie, rather than targeting her personally. The lawsuit, filed over a year ago, accused Baldoni of inappropriate behavior during the production of “End of Us.” However, the judge determined that Baldoni’s conduct was focused on the portrayal of Lively’s role in specific scenes.

A key element of the judge’s decision centered on the need for creative freedom within filmmaking. Liman stated that “creative artists, as well as comedians, must have a certain space for experimenting within the boundaries of the agreed-upon script, without fearing responsibility for sexual harassment.”

This ruling establishes a critical distinction: the judge found that Baldoni’s actions were intended for the character’s performance, not as a personal attack on Lively. Consequently, Lively’s ability to pursue legal action against Baldoni has been unsuccessful.
