Around 10:30 we started the evacuation in the hotel where we are staying. We were given instructions on the loudspeakers that we should all gather in the garage of the hotel,” describes pilot Klemen Gerdin, who is currently in Vilnius. They remained in a safe location for about half an hour, then they declared that the danger was over.
According to his assessment, the evacuation was carried out calmly, without panic. Gerdin is a pilot and a member of SAS data. Due to the current danger, the airport in Vilnius was closed for about an hour, so the crew did not receive additional instructions.
“If the situation remains normal, we will be back to normal,” Gerdin says.
