Traffic Advisory Issued Following Roadwork Near Domžale
Drivers are being advised to exercise caution on a section of road near Domžale, Slovenia, due to ongoing construction and reduced lane availability. A driving safety instructor conducted a demonstration run along the affected area, highlighting the importance of adhering to adjusted speed limits and maintaining a safe distance. The initial speed limit on this section is 80 kilometers per hour.
Following the commencement of roadwork, the lanes are narrowed to 60 kilometers per hour. Manuel Pungertnik, a safety instructor from the AMZS, emphasized the significance of clear signage, noting that the full yellow line designates the active lane during construction. “Here the signs are clear, let’s be honest, the full line, the yellow line applies, because work on the road is being done,” Pungertnik explained.
He stressed that if a vehicle is traveling in one lane, the adjacent side lane remains wide enough for passengers. Pungertnik cautioned drivers against distractions, stating, “At the moment, when I start looking at the phone, when I start looking at the navigation, and I don’t know what else, this lane will become very narrow. And I can only be on the line and reduce the traffic on the other lane, which is dangerous.” Maintaining a sufficient safety distance from the vehicle ahead was also highlighted as a critical factor.
