The Drava River, which is about 3 km from the Slovenian-Croatian border, rose to 12.10 meters and according to unofficial information, it carried a 14-year-old boy away, reports the Croatian online portal net.hr. He disappeared in the old Drava channel, between the settlements of Gornji Hraščan and Pušćine. A large search operation was launched, all intervention teams were on the ground – police officers, rescuers, and divers.
The area was searched on land and in and by the river, they also used drones. The exact circumstances of the accident are not yet known. The media of Međimurje reports that the young men who were with him thought he had drowned.
Around 3 pm, the representative for public relations of the Međimurje police department Radovan Gačal for RTL Danas confirmed that the missing boy was found dead. The investigation is still ongoing. The search is further complicated by the fact that the boy was found in the Drava River.
