The northern region of Slovenia experienced the most significant rainfall, correlating with the highest number of firefighting interventions reported. In the town of Bovec, a sudden rise in water levels triggered a flash flood, resulting in several residential buildings and a hotel becoming flooded. Firefighters were also required to pump water from the premises of a local cultural center.
Separately, in the Logar Valley, lightning initiated a fire on a tree. Personnel from the PGD Solčava responded to the incident, extinguishing the blaze and utilizing a tractor to remove the affected tree from the forest. Reports of downed trees were also filed from Jesenice, Tolmin, and Videm.
Regarding weather patterns, the Primorska coast is expected to experience persistent heat today. The day’s forecast indicates an initial period of mostly cloudy skies, transitioning to partly cloudy conditions. By midday, the weather is predicted to feature sunshine interspersed with occasional variable cloudiness, according to the ARS.
In the mountainous areas, residents should anticipate the development of some thunderstorms and scattered thunderstorms during the afternoon. Throughout the Primorska region, winds are forecast to remain generally light. The highest anticipated daily temperature across the area is 27°C.
