Ronaldo with new coach at Al Nassr

Australian manager Ange Postecoglou has recently accepted a role in Saudi Arabia, taking over the management of Al Nassr. This move follows a varied and high-profile coaching career. Most recently, Postecoglou was with Nottingham Forest, where his tenure concluded in mid-October following a period of inconsistent results, after only serving for about six weeks.

Prior to that, he managed Tottenham Hotspur, a spell during which he successfully guided the club to a European League trophy in the 2024/25 season. Despite this recent silverware, the club parted ways with him. His extensive coaching history includes managing several prominent clubs in Australia, as well as stints in Asia and Scotland.

Notably, he managed Yokohama in Japan and previously led Celtic in Scotland. The move to Saudi Arabia sees him replacing Jorge Jesus, who departed the club after the team secured the trophy. Furthermore, Postecoglou was also considered for the role of Scotland’s national team coach, indicating his high standing within international football circles.

His career demonstrates a pattern of taking charge of major teams, cementing his reputation as a highly sought-after manager across multiple international leagues, beginning with his foundation in Australian football.
