Police Seize Stolen BMW Following Investigation in Murska Sobota

Murska Sobota, Slovenia – Police in Murska Sobota conducted an investigation last week involving a Romanian driver and a vehicle transporting a BMW. The incident centered around a combined vehicle with a German-registered BMW trailer. Following a thorough inspection, authorities discovered that the trailer’s license plates and accompanying documentation were fraudulent.

Further investigation revealed alterations to the vehicle itself. The BMW was subsequently identified as a stolen vehicle, having been reported missing in Italy in April. The police seized the vehicle and are preparing to return it to its rightful owner.

A photograph of the seized vehicle, marked “PU Murska Sobota,” has been released. The driver is now facing criminal charges. The District State Prosecutor’s Office in Murska Sobota will file a complaint against the driver for suspicion of concealment, under Article 217 of the Criminal Code, and for forgery of documents, under Article 251 of the Criminal Code.

The investigation is ongoing.
