“She suspects that the comments were made by people who lost money because of her defeat,” a spokesperson clarified. “And if these people can’t stop because they’re losing money at the time, I won’t give them the chance to comment,” Ribakina added. She characterized the situation as a temporary reaction.

“It was just my mood at the time,” she said, adding that she didn’t wish to spend the day “cleaning up” her account. The incident highlights the pressures faced by athletes in the digital age.
