Police in Izola responded to a disturbance late Tuesday evening following an altercation involving three men. Officers from the Koper Police Department intervened at approximately 14:00 local time. The incident involved a 42-year-old resident of Izola and a 50-year-old man from Idrija.
Initial reports indicate the Idrijan man became involved in a physical confrontation with the group, which also included the 42-year-old. According to police, the Idrijan was shouting at officers upon arrival. During this outburst, he removed a small knife from his sock.
The 42-year-old and another man present were able to restrain the 50-year-old. They then secured the knife and awaited the arrival of law enforcement. Police subsequently seized the knife as evidence.
Authorities intend to file criminal charges against the Idrijan man for the offense of endangering with a dangerous object, as outlined by Slovenian law. The investigation is ongoing.
