Neset Dulai, director of the Okolje Piran communal company, confirmed the effectiveness of the cleanup efforts. He stated, “We managed to stop the oil spill in the shortest possible time, and we were able to empty the beach very quickly, so we can say that this successful action.”
Robert Škrokov of the Maritime Authority echoed this sentiment regarding the response.
He commented, “From our perspective, we were satisfied, there is certainly room for improvement, but from the perspective of action, cooperation, communication, and ultimately communication after the event, we can say that this is a successful action.”
The swift action taken by multiple agencies allowed for the quick reopening of the beach. The overall coordination demonstrated by the teams was highlighted as a key success factor, despite the recent disruption caused by the oil spill.
